Maybe you’re planning a trip to Cabo in March, or you’re visiting for spring break. Either way, the month of March is an exciting and eventful time for Cabo. March is a great month to visit Cabo for a number of reasons.
1. Whale watching season peak
Whale watching ends in April when the whales return to the cold Alaskan waters for summer. From December to April, Cabo sees hundreds of whale watching tours.
2. San Jose festival
In March, San Jose del Cabo hosts a festival of traditions to honor San Jose, the city’s patron saint. This 11-day event culminates on March 19th. It begins March 8th with nightly festivities and carnivals on the weekend. There are tons of food venues throughout downtown, and everyone celebrates San Jose.
3. Festival de Cine Todos Santos
This film festival takes place in Cabo from March 12-March 22. It brings together short films and documentaries shot all over Mexico. This unique cultural experience allows films to be shown that most people wouldn’t have had access to. Learn more about it here.
4. Explore El Arco
El Arco, or Land’s End, is Cabo’s most famous natural landmark. Situated on the southern tip of Baja, it attracts cruise ships, boat tours, and tons of visitors. This huge rock formation is also a beautiful place to view the sunset, so try visiting towards the end of the day.
5. Snorkel at Cabo Pulmo
Cabo Pulmo is a Mexican National Marine Park that is part of the conservation efforts of Mexico. The marine park offers crystal clear water with a beautiful and old coral reef. Snorkel above the reef, and explore the scores of wildlife living in the marine park. The area is also home to more than the marine park. It is a flourishing community with small restaurants, a general store, and dive centers. However, you won’t find any hotels or nightlife here.
