Many Cabo regulars will tell you that November is one of their favorite months to visit Cabo San Lucas! The cooler temperatures and beautiful weather make November great for activities in Cabo San Lucas. The beaches are not too crowded yet it is still a great time for fishing. It also provides an opportunity to engage in more local activities in Cabo San Lucas such as the celebration of cultural Mexican traditions and holidays.
The Day of the Dead, or Dia de Los Muertos, is celebrated on November 1 and November 2. At first glance, this holiday seems similar to the American tradition of Halloween. However, Dia de Los Muertos and Halloween are two very different holidays. Dia de Los Muertos is a religious holiday, which celebrates and remembers loved ones who have passed away. Families visit graves and leave beautiful offerings of flowers, food, and candles. If you find yourself in Cabo during these few days, it would make a culturally enriching experience to engage in this local celebration. However, Cabo does celebrate Halloween as well, so break out your costume if you want to participate in more American activities in Cabo San Lucas. There are plenty of costume parties and festivals to participate in. If you want to create a Dia de Los Muertos altar to celebrate this holiday, read more about it here.
Another one of November’s activities in Cabo San Lucas is the San Jose Organic Market. The market opens the first week of November and is filled with colorful produce. It takes place every Saturday in November, and it’s a great way to taste some local cuisine and ingredients.
